Young people from ages 6-14 come from the city and surrounding villages for a week of preaching games and summer fun. This past Tuesday, Matt, James Dean and Artyom went out to the campsite to help with some of the initial cleanup and preparation. The campsite is about a 45-minute drive from the city and it is situated in a "holler" at the base of 2 mountains with a stream running through it. The picture here doesn't do it justice, but it is a beautiful spot for a camp. When we weren't battling the horseflies, black flies and "moshki", we were clearing out the weeds and brush and setting up tents. All in all, it was a full day, but we were able to get a lot of the grunt-work done. Please be in prayer for camp this year that the Lord would work in the hearts of those that will be coming. Our prayer is that those youth who are saved would be strengthened and further grounded in the truth of God's Word, and that those who are not saved would accept Christ as their Savior. Camp will be from July 10-16. We still have a lot of preparations to do before then, but we are excited and looking forward to how God will work in the lives of our young people.Thu, 30 Jun 2011 07:28:03 -0500 http://www.northboundnorthcutts.com/OurMinistry/news.php?id=34http://www.northboundnorthcutts.com/OurMinistry/news.php?id=34We're Having A Baby!We are excited to announce that we are expecting our second child. Baby Northcutt #2 will arrive sometime towards the end of January or the first of February. We are excited and thankful for another little one that the Lord has blessed us with. We would ask you to please pray with us about finding the right medical care over here. Matt has a hereditary condition that could be passed on to the baby and could cause some complications at birth. The Lord has provided some excellent contacts in the medical community, for which we are very thankful. We are trying to find a doctor who is knowledgeable in this area as well as a medical facility that is properly equipped to handle such a condition. Obviously we covet your prayers for both Katie and the baby. So far, the pregnancy has been fairly easy for Katie. The summer heat definitely takes it's toll on her strength and stamina, but she is doing well. We will continue to keep you posted as we find out more and as the baby develops.Sun, 19 Jun 2011 20:07:20 -0500 http://www.northboundnorthcutts.com/OurMinistry/news.php?id=33http://www.northboundnorthcutts.com/OurMinistry/news.php?id=33A Visit from Family! Our first visitor from the States was Matt's sister, Mandy. She had been wanting to come over and visit us for a long time, but work and school schedules did not permit it. However, she was able to squeeze out an 11-day visit in the first part of June. Elliot loved getting to spend some time with "Aunt Meeny", as she is affectionately known. The time went by very quickly, but we had fun doing many things around the city such as shopping, sightseeing and visiting the local parks and attraction. One event that was a first for all of us was that we were able to attend a Russian opera at the local fine-arts center. The music was absolutely beautiful and Katie and I were able to pick out some of the Russian words that we knew. We were sorry to see her have to leave, but we greatly enjoyed our time together. If anyone else would like to come for a visit, we would gladly have you! Siberia isn't as rough as it sounds - even in a 40-below winter!Mon, 13 Jun 2011 19:57:10 -0500 http://www.northboundnorthcutts.com/OurMinistry/news.php?id=32http://www.northboundnorthcutts.com/OurMinistry/news.php?id=32Family PictureIt seems to be the custom of the other missionaries here to take a new family picture each Easter, so we decided to do the same. Here is our new family photo for 2011. This picture was taken after all of the services and meal on Easter Sunday, and as you can see, we have a very tired boy. We tried several takes, but this was the best. For a larger printable version for your church, please contact me and I will send it to you directly.Mon, 16 May 2011 03:49:43 -0500 http://www.northboundnorthcutts.com/OurMinistry/news.php?id=31http://www.northboundnorthcutts.com/OurMinistry/news.php?id=31Easter Service ReportIt seems like we just turned around and May is already half over. I intended to get this report out sooner, but time got away from me. Christ is Risen! Truly He is Risen! This was the greeting heard on Resurrection Sunday. In the service we had a record number in attendance — over 130 people!  The church building was packed out!  We had a 2-hour service from 10am-12noon with 5 preachers, a children's program and special music. The Lord answered specific prayer by allowing us to have many first-time visitors in the service including some English students and several kids from one of the local orphanages. Please pray for us as we continue to build a relationship with those that came that we would see them come to know Christ as their Savior!!  The Gospel was clearly presented at least 5 times throughout the service today.  Please pray that the seed planted will take root in their lives. Another prayer praise was that we were able to get the church basement mostly completed and we enjoyed a great meal in the new space today after the service.   We praise the Lord for His blessing on the day!  It is truly an honor to be the servant of a RISEN Lord and Savior.Mon, 16 May 2011 02:54:46 -0500 http://www.northboundnorthcutts.com/OurMinistry/news.php?id=30http://www.northboundnorthcutts.com/OurMinistry/news.php?id=30Painting is Done!Monday was another huge workday at church as we began to put the finishing touches on the project. The goal of Monday was to paint the entire basement which included the kitchen, an office and two classrooms. Katie and I, along with Kevin and Jessica Jones and Nancy Butkevich all pitched in to help with the task. We started painting around 11am and, besides a short break for lunch and a store run to buy more paint, we painted until 9:30pm. It was truly a team effort to get it done. James and Cassie Dean were a tremendous blessing as they volunteered to watch all of our kids so that we could concentrate on the work at hand. Without their help, we would not have been able to finish. Praise the Lord we were able to complete the entire project! What blessing to see the entire space painted. We still have much to do before Sunday, so please be in prayer that we would be able to finish in time. We praise the Lord for how He has enabled us to get so much done, so far and we are looking forward to being able to use the space for His glory and to reach souls for Him!Tue, 19 Apr 2011 03:33:28 -0500 http://www.northboundnorthcutts.com/OurMinistry/news.php?id=29http://www.northboundnorthcutts.com/OurMinistry/news.php?id=29Work Day!Today was a workday at church. We are working hard to finish the basement in time for our Easter service in about a week! Today I was able to paint what is going to be the new kitchen at church. It took all afternoon to get the room prepped and painted. Katie and Elliot walked down to the church later on in the afternoon and as soon as Elliot saw the paint, he wanted to help. "I ep Daddy mank!" was what he kept repeating, so I had to let him help a little. Monday will be another painting day as we try to gets things finished up by Easter. Please pray that we will be able to get it all done it time.Sat, 16 Apr 2011 06:47:31 -0500 http://www.northboundnorthcutts.com/OurMinistry/news.php?id=28http://www.northboundnorthcutts.com/OurMinistry/news.php?id=28Christ is the Resurrection! This is the invitation that I was able to design for our Easter outreach service. We had 1000 printed and we will be distributing them around the city all throughout the week preceding Easter. The front of the card states that "Christ is the Resurrection. Believers in Him have eternal life." On the reverse is a 2011 calendar with our invitation to the Easter service at Krasnoyarsk Baptist Church. Please pray with us about this important upcoming service. Easter is one of two holidays in which most Russian feel obligated to attend church (Christmas is the other). Therefore, we are making a big effort to invite as many people as possible so that they can hear a clear presentation of the Gospel. Please pray that God will begin to work in the hearts of those who will be in attendance that they will see their need to believe in the One who is the Resurrection.Wed, 13 Apr 2011 19:20:12 -0500 http://www.northboundnorthcutts.com/OurMinistry/news.php?id=27http://www.northboundnorthcutts.com/OurMinistry/news.php?id=27New Support Level! After what seems like being stuck in the 60's forever, we are excited to announce that 2 new churches have partnered with us to help take the gospel to Arctic Siberia. This increase puts us now at 71% of our needed support! Please pray with us that God will bring in the remainder that we need before we return to the field this summer.Mon, 12 Jul 2010 12:55:12 -0500 http://www.northboundnorthcutts.com/OurMinistry/news.php?id=25http://www.northboundnorthcutts.com/OurMinistry/news.php?id=25May-June Prayerletter Now PostedOur current prayerletter for the months of May-June, 2010 is now available on our site. It is a 1998 Toyota Ipsum with a 2.4L inline 4-cylinder engine, front-wheel drive, and will seat up to 8 people. It is about the size of a mid-size SUV. It came with a good set of snow-tires and has a nice comfortable ride. We installed a security system/remote starter on it, which is a necessity here in Siberia. The remote starter is set to start the car when the engine block temperature reaches -10C and will run for 20 minutes. This is to keep the engine from freezing up during the winter when it is -30C or colder. If we didn't have the starter, the car would never start when we do need it. We praise the Lord for His abundant blessings in providing us with a great vehicle.Sun, 17 Jan 2010 23:19:14 -0500 http://www.northboundnorthcutts.com/OurMinistry/news.php?id=22http://www.northboundnorthcutts.com/OurMinistry/news.php?id=22Happy New Year!We want to take this time to wish a Happy New Year to all of you who keep up with our ministry. We have seen the Lord work in miraculous ways this past year while on deputation. However, we know that we cannot rest on last year's victories and we are looking forward to how the Lord will work in and through our lives as we anticipate being able to return to Siberia on a full-time basis by August of 2010. Thank you again to all who have partnered with us through prayer and finances to allow us represent you as we endeavor to reach the people of Siberia with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our prayer is that God will be able to use each one of you in even greater ways this new year. The tract title is "How to be 100% sure of Heaven According to the Bible." I had the privilege of knowing Bro. Bray while I was at Ambassador Baptist College and his burden for souls is very obvious. It was a joy to be able to work with him to complete this project and get this tool out into the hands of local churches and individuals. This tract is unique from most in that is includes both Old and New Testament scriptures as well as emphasis on the doctrine of repentance. I believe that this is a well-written, easy-to-use tract that will be a valuable asset to the soulwinner. For more information about this tract or ordering it, please contact Marantha Baptist Church in Shelby, NC at www.mbcshelby.org or visit the tract's website at www.thepoweroftheword.comSat, 09 May 2009 13:31:20 -0500 http://www.northboundnorthcutts.com/OurMinistry/news.php?id=17http://www.northboundnorthcutts.com/OurMinistry/news.php?id=17New Missionary to Siberia has Arrived! We are proud to announce to arrival of our new missionary, Elliot Hudson Northcutt. On our last visit to the doctor we found out that Mac is a boy, and we were able to get some clear pictures. Here is the best picture of his leg(s). If you look close you can see both of them in the picture. I will try to post some more as I get the time.Wed, 06 Aug 2008 14:38:37 -0500 http://www.northboundnorthcutts.com/OurMinistry/news.php?id=14http://www.northboundnorthcutts.com/OurMinistry/news.php?id=142002 Saab for SaleDue to the space demands that both deputation and a new baby will bring, we have decided that it would be wise to sell our current vehicle and purchase a minivan. The heartbeat was about 160-165 beats per minute. We kept hearing a sucking sound in with the heartbeat which turned out to actually be the baby moving around. Both the doctor and the nurse said that we have a very active baby. So, all-in-all, the appointment went very well and we got a good report. Our next appointment we are hoping to find out if the baby is a boy or girl. I will keep the news updated as we learn more through our appointments. Thanks for all your prayers and support. Please continue to keep Katie and the baby in your prayers.Tue, 24 Jun 2008 08:43:27 -0500 http://www.northboundnorthcutts.com/OurMinistry/news.php?id=12http://www.northboundnorthcutts.com/OurMinistry/news.php?id=12First Baby Picture!Yesterday we went for our first prenatal appointment and got our first look at Mac. (For those of you who don't know, Mac is our nickname for the baby until we find out whether it s a boy or a girl) We are 9 weeks along in the pregnancy with everything going great. The doctor said everything was just the way it was supposed to be. We were a bit surprised that they did an ultrasound this early, but they did and we are glad for it. We were able to see (as I tried to point out in the picture) the baby's arms, legs and also see his heart beating. Even at this early stage, it is quite evident that this is not just a mass of tissue, but a living person. How anyone can say he is not a living person but just a mass of tissue to be expunged from the body is beyond me. Just seeing the heartbeat alone should be enough to convince someone that it is a living baby in the mother's womb. I guess this is just another evidence of what Paul told Timothy in 1 Timothy 2:4 about men having their conscience seared with a hot iron. Men want to believe what they want regardless of the facts and truths of God's Word (Life begins at conception) that even seeing the heartbeat of a baby in the womb wouldn't change their minds. Anyways, Mac is alive and well at 9 weeks old and we are excited about our future with him. Please keep us in your prayers that both Katie and Mac would be healthy and safe throughout the duration of the pregnancy and delivery.Fri, 23 May 2008 09:48:15 -0500 http://www.northboundnorthcutts.com/OurMinistry/news.php?id=11http://www.northboundnorthcutts.com/OurMinistry/news.php?id=11April Prayer Letter Now PostedOur current prayer letter for April 2008 is now posted on our website. You may either download it or view it under the OUR MINSTRY drop-down menu on the PRAYERLETTERS page. Lord willing, we will try to post a prayer letter every month with frequent email updates throughout the month. Please keep us in your prayers. We need them desperately.Mon, 19 May 2008 11:07:38 -0500 http://www.northboundnorthcutts.com/OurMinistry/news.php?id=9http://www.northboundnorthcutts.com/OurMinistry/news.php?id=9New Missionary to Siberia!Yes, it is true. Come December, there will be another member of the Northcutt family on the deputation trail as we are expecting our first child. Excited would hardly describe our joy as we anticipate the arrival of our new trust from God. Katie is about 2 months along in her pregnancy and is doing quite well. Waves of nausea come and go, but for the most part she hasn't been really sick. The worst always comes in the evening. We will be posting more on the progress and development of our little one. I told Katie we could name the baby "Mac" in honor of my new computer, but she didn't go for it. Please keep us in your prayers as this is a learning experience for both me and Katie and each day brings its own set of ups and downs.Fri, 16 May 2008 13:06:40 -0500 http://www.northboundnorthcutts.com/OurMinistry/news.php?id=10http://www.northboundnorthcutts.com/OurMinistry/news.php?id=10Graduation Complete!Praise the Lord! Four years of hard work and study at Ambassador Baptist College paid off at the Commencement Exercises on May 2, 2008. As you can see from the picture, all of Katie's family were able to come down for the graduation. It was a special treat to be able to spend about a week after the graduation with her family. I was privileged to graduate with 45 other students. Out of my large 90+ freshman class, very few made it this far to actually graduating. The Lord has knit a special bond between those of use who came in together and stayed for all of the four years and it is exciting to see what God's will holds is store for each of us. These are life-long friendships that we have developed and I truly thank God for the friends He has sent into my life to encourage me and Katie. Many are the hours and prayers that have been invested in both mine and Katie's life. As I leave the college stage of life and embark into full-time deputation, I am slowly beginning to realize how great a debt I owe, not to just Jesus Christ who saved me, but to the many men and women who have poured their lives into mine to teach and instruct me in the Word of God. Realizing this debt I owe makes me more determined than ever to stay true to the Word of God and the calling that he has given me and Katie for Arctic Siberia. Please pray that we would keep on the firin' line and stay true to our calling and the Word of God.Mon, 05 May 2008 18:07:41 -0500 http://www.northboundnorthcutts.com/OurMinistry/news.php?id=7http://www.northboundnorthcutts.com/OurMinistry/news.php?id=7Email Updates Now AvailableWe have added a new feature to our website. On Sunday, March 16, 2008, the church unanimously voted to send us as church-planting missionaries to the field of Arctic Siberia. Praise the Lord! We are excited about this step in the process of getting to the field. It is so encouraging to know that we have a church who will faithfully stand behind us as we endeavor to be obedient to the Lord's call to the field of Arctic Siberia.
