A Visit from Family!

Our first visitor from the States was Matt’s sister, Mandy. She had been wanting to come over and visit us for a long time, but work and school schedules did not permit it. However, she was able to squeeze out an 11-day visit in the first part of June.
Elliot loved getting to spend some time with “Aunt Meeny“, as she is affectionately known. The time went by very quickly, but we had fun doing many things around the city such as shopping, sightseeing and visiting the local parks and attraction.
One event that was a first for all of us was that we were able to attend a Russian opera at the local fine-arts center. The music was absolutely beautiful and Katie and I were able to pick out some of the Russian words that we knew.
We were sorry to see her have to leave, but we greatly enjoyed our time together. If anyone else would like to come for a visit, we would gladly have you! Siberia isn’t as rough as it sounds - even in a 40-below winter!
